The Witch Stone Ghosts!

08/05/2024

I read this book over half term and, to be honest, I found it quite boring at the beginning. Oh how wrong I was! Emily Kandall-Jones wrote this book and the creativity is mind blowing. Let me walk you through the book. Autumn isn't a normal girl, no, she can see ghosts! This ability makes her an outcast at school but she does have her ghosty friend Jack who lives in her attic. Everything is fine until news is her dad is dead! Found dead in the ocean, his greatest phobia. Strange....... Anyway, Autumn and her mother are sent to an island due to her father's will. Jack comes with them and Autumn makes friends, well a singular friend. Jack doesn't trust her friend though, he has an odd feeling. From strange neighbours, to hidden backstories, to side stories and plot twists, this book contains it all. Is this town nothing more than a peaceful island or will it contain the adventure of her life?!

Be warned! This book may explode your mind with it's imagination and story line, you have been warned!

I loved this book, although a bit dull at first, I enjoyed this book a lot! Especially towards the end, I could not physically put this book down! I loved the culture Emily invented, the abilities inner workings and the way characters popped out of nowhere in such a smooth way, it was like they had been in this story since page 1. What I am trying to say is there is a reason this book has won an award! Fantastic read, 100% recommended!
